History
In 1923, Jacob Slomin opened a general store in Seaford, New York, that offered apples, yard goods, and kerosene to customers. He soon began delivering kerosene straight to his customers' homes so they did not have to carry their orders home from the store. Jacob's son, Raymond, succeeded his father, and the company expanded to include home heating oil delivery and service. In the 1980s, during a period of fuel deregulation, Slomin's began offering home security systems and has since risen to become the largest privately owned home security company in the United States. When the new millennium began, the company began offering gas equipment service, hot water heaters, and air conditioning under the leadership of Raymond's children and grandchildren. Although Raymond died on April 30, 2002, his descendants continue to serve an active role in the company.

Following Raymond's leadership, the company was given an award by Long Island Business News. The newspaper cited its innovation in the home security market as a reason for the company's success. Slomin's is credited for "giving customers the razor and selling them the blades" by offering a free home security system and a paid monthly monitoring. In 2002, Newsday recognized Slomin's as the 32nd largest company on Long Island. Since then, it has become the 6th largest security company in the country according to SDM Magazine's annual top 100 report. Slomin's has most recently expanded its home security operations in the United States and its oil and delivery service in the same areas.
